Grand Teton National Park and the history of the ranch Hatchet

The hotel is located east of Moran Junction (entrance to Grand Teton National Park) country sets a pristine stretch historic ranch known as The Hatchet. This extends well-known east-west oriented valley Buffalo Wyoming Valley.

The Hatchet cattle farm consisted of five original houses and has been called the Hatchet Ranch, because the fire was used Hatchet livestock. The Hatchet Ranch in 1950 by WB Campbell, a Kansas oil man bought. In 1954, after theHighway 26/287 through his ranch, in conjunction with Dubois Moran, Mr. Campbell built a single very long-log-structure on the property near the new highway.

The five original settler John & Lucy Shive 1892, Wadama Mary, the mother of Lucy Shive were more than 80 years when, in 1911, homesteaded, William Dunn, daughter of Lord Shiva's husband in 1915, Ben Kilky, servant and John Shive Cherry, a squatter neighbors.
